Gender diversity’s importance has been on the agenda for a while, but Stephen Turban, Dan Wu and Letian (LT) Zhang, HBS researchers reveal where and how it really is impacting the work environment.
According to the writers ‘gender diversity relates to more productive companies, as measured by market value and revenue, only in contexts where gender diversity is viewed as “normatively” accepted. By normative acceptance, we mean a widespread cultural belief that gender diversity is important.’
Hence, not only the statistical number shall be part of the recipe for driving growth but also the company culture’s perspective on gender diversity itself.
