We will play both with words and images. Art and poetry are interweaved as they are both sharing the great power of symbols which in art are tangible and visible, whereas in poetry the images stored in our minds. Drawing out our poetry adds power and meaning to words by making them stronger and vibrant: a pen can become a brush, a brush can become a pen!

THEME OF THE MONTH
Our theme for October is Mental Health Awareness, giving a time for all of us to acknowledge the struggles ourselves and others are facing when it comes to mental health whilst offering solutions to tackle them. Throughout the month, our workshops will follow this theme by helping you to explore intuitive methods for overcoming personal challenges and discover interesting new ways to express your emotions through creativity.


WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

* 12th October, 6-7PM BST – Your magical wor(l)d

We will gently approach creative writing by first learning to “feel” the words. It will be our first approach to get comfortable with them and start recognising what they have to say to us. Words have power on their own, they can reflect what is in our minds, they have the potential to heal and destroy. That’s why it is important to choose them wisely and use them with care.

A word can become our personal mantra, a positive affirmation that motivates and inspires us to be our best self.

A word can say how we are feeling in a given moment and become a landscape of our inner world.

A word can be incorporated in our personal daily ritual creating our sacred space to start the day more centred and focused.

A word can be our spell word to create magic in our daily life!

Starting from previously written poetries we will find our word and from there starts our journey of transformation. The workshop blends meditative and creative practices to explore the inner self. We offer a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere in which participants are able to explore their written expressions and associated emotional responses.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Please have some paper, a pen, a pencil, coloured pencils/crayons/watercolours and potentially some old magazines, books or newspapers at hand.
No previous experience required.

OUR FACILITATOR

Giulia is guided by her introspective curiosity, thus she decided to study Italian Modern Literature as her first degree. She wanted to discover unknown emotional places within the world of words!
Her mindful approach to life led her to become a certified kundalini yoga teacher and to start her training to become an art therapist.
Giulia loves poetry and investigating the power of words through mantra meditation, creative writing and art!
She runs yoga courses for stress management and creative workshops to support self-discovery.
