UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

September – Learning & Happiness

* 6th September, 6.00-7.15PM BST – Discovering Our Emotional Triggers Through Creativity

We have been facing extremely challenging times, with uncertainty being the soundtrack for the past few years, we have watched the world turn upside down, leaving us disoriented and unsure of the future. Due to this, trying to lay down the foundations for our future and make decisions that will affect our personal and professional lives is not an easy task. When facing these challenging times it’s exceedingly difficult to maintain a strong, positive and focused mindset, sometimes even losing faith.

This workshop will combine creativity, imagination and visualisation to help us to gain a better awareness of what’s triggering our emotions, and how we can use this deep knowledge to navigate the intricate labyrinth of life, renewing our sense of hope and self-confidence.

Materials

Mandatory: Squared paper (at least 24×24 cm or bigger). Drawing materials of your choice: paint, coloured pencils, crayons, watercolours etc..

Optional: old magazines for collage making, any mix media materials you would like to bring into your art work.

This particular workshop will be facilitated by Giulia, a certified Kundalini yoga teacher and art therapist trainee with a BA in Italian Modern Literature. She is guided by her introspective curiosity and a mindful approach to life. She has vast experience working with diverse groups of people, including adults working from home, parents, university students and children with special needs and learning disabilities. She runs meditation and yoga sessions for stress management, as well as healing art and creative writing workshops.

October – Mental Health Awareness and Self-Awareness

*4th October, 6.00-7.15PM BST – Inside – Outside

Creativity and mindfulness can be a winning pathway to refine our ability to connect with the Self. Engaging in mindfulness and art techniques can help us to develop a deeper awareness of somatic and psychological experiences, and consequently help us detach from those thoughts that are preventing us from gaining a clearer sense of who we are.

During this workshop, you will learn how to mindfully engage in an art making process of your choice, including painting, drawing, collage making, etc. learning how to be fully present in the now. Blending mindfulness techniques, visualisation and creativity, we will explore the deep connection between mind and body, while raising our self-awareness and delving into our emotions with a non-judgmental perspective.

Materials

Mandatory: Paper (at least size A4, however if you feel comfortable working on a bigger surface have handy an A3) Drawing media of your choice: coloured pencils/ markers/ crayons/watercolours/ paint.

November – Men’s Health and Stress Awareness

* 8th November, 6.00-7.15PM GMT – Stress and Its Opposite

When we experience high levels of stress, it can become difficult for the mind and the body to work together and consequently be present and aware of the here and now. It becomes even more difficult to find balance when we are not able to recognise our stress, and the causes of it, as we tend to run away from our physical and emotional sensations, not giving ourselves the time to listen to what our body has to say. Therefore, becoming aware of the present moment is key to recognising and managing our emotions and helping us find a sense balance once again.

During this workshop, you will learn how to mindfully engage in an art making process of your choice, including painting, drawing, collage making, etc. to be fully present in the here and now, while exploring your emotions in a non-judgmental way.  Blending mindfulness techniques, visualisation and creativity, you will be able to recognise what stress means to you, identify the sources of your stress, while also accessing your inner resources and strengthening your resilience to cope with it.

This is the time of year when we all come together to spend with family, friends and most importantly ourselves. This workshop will help you treasure the real meaning of Christmas, consequently shifting your focus to what really matters to you. Blending mindfulness techniques, visualisation and creativity you will become aware of your deepest dreams, intentions, and wishes, ultimately giving yourself the most precious gift of all.
