THEME OF THE MONTH
Our theme for October is Mental Health Awareness, giving a time for all of us to acknowledge the struggles ourselves and others are facing when it comes to mental health whilst offering solutions to tackle them. Throughout the month, our workshops will follow this theme by helping you to explore intuitive methods for overcoming personal challenges and discover interesting new ways to express your emotions through creativity.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

Art as a Form of Meditation with Klari Gaspar
Making art can be a particularly useful tool to meditate. We will combine visualisations and meditation with creating artworks. When words are not enough to describe feelings and release tension, a piece of paper and a pen can save us…

No artistic materials or previous experience are needed!

DATE & TIME
Monday, 5th October, 6-7PM BST

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Please have some paper, pencil or biro, and potentially some coloured pencils at hand.
No previous experience required.

OUR FACILITATOR

Klara Gaspar, who has a BA degree in graphic design, studied CBT (cognitive and behavioural therapy) and is just finishing her last year at Tobias School of Art & Therapy to become a transpersonal arts counsellor. She interned with Sankalpa: Art Journeys in India; worked with the elderly, teenagers in foster homes, chronically ill children and with adults in mental institutions. She likes to combine her interest in meditation and eastern philosophies with the humanistic, transpersonal and somatic approach in art therapy. Creative Writing & Art with Giulia Dell’Anna
You will be encouraged to produce your very own “literary works” to express deep-seated emotions. You will be guided in the creative process in discovering the inner voice without feeling the pressure to find the perfect words and the fear of being misunderstood.

We will play both with words and images. Art and poetry are interweaved as they are both sharing the great power of symbols which in art are tangible and visible, whereas in poetry the images stored in our minds. Drawing out our poetry adds power and meaning to words by making them stronger and vibrant: a pen can become a brush, a brush can become a pen!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Please have some paper, a pen, a pencil, coloured pencils/crayons/watercolours and potentially some old magazines, books or newspapers at hand.
No previous experience required.

OUR FACILITATOR

Giulia is guided by her introspective curiosity, thus she decided to study Italian Modern Literature as her first degree. She wanted to discover unknown emotional places within the world of words!
Her mindful approach to life led her to become a certified kundalini yoga teacher and to start her training to become an art therapist.
Giulia loves poetry and investigating the power of words through mantra meditation, creative writing and art!
She runs yoga courses for stress management and creative workshops to support self-discovery.

Creativity for Wellbeing with Jess Long
We will work with creative exercises to get grounded, connect to ourselves, help reduce stress, and engage with the moment.
A light, mindful, grounding workshop designed to give you the tools to carry out your own creative arts activities into the week and beyond.
You will leave feeling inspired, more centred and connected, peaceful and calm. No arts experience necessary!

OUR FACILITATOR

Jess is an Artist and Arts Facilitator who runs arts workshops for local communities and teams in office working environments. She is also currently undertaking a Masters in Psychotherapy with a focus on using the creative arts in therapy and works as Legal Counsel for an International Girls Rights NGO.

Positive Thinking & Wellbeing with Andrea Meszaros
A dive into positive thinking techniques, whilst reassessing our everyday priorities to create meaningful boundaries and an effective balance among the important aspects of life. You will be encouraged to identify and reflect on your values, priorities and purpose to feel more calm and in control, through individual and group activities.

OUR FACILITATOR

Andrea is the founder of Talent Courtyard, holistic coach, visiting lecturer and professional trainer with 6+ years experience, specialising in positive psychology and NLP and passionate about culture and diversity. She is curious about various perspectives, logic and emotions. Her workshops are friendly, interactive, collaborative and educative.

This will be a virtual live session. Once signed up, you’ll receive a link to register to our Zoom virtual classroom.
