WELL-BEING WORKSHOPS

Our well-being days are designed to provide urban professionals support and guidance to effectively navigate their professional, personal and mental well-being.

We focus on all aspects of wellness, whilst providing a ‘toolkit’ to professionals which helps them manage their well-being, through a set of activities from yoga and meditation, across creative workshops (non-verbal communication) to entertaining and coaching activities (verbalisation), by tapping into both the left and right side of the brain in order to achieve relaxation, learning and discovery.

Selected Workshops

Mindful Walking Meditation

Just like our bodies, our minds need constant training in order to function at their best. Being able to effectively handle stress, hold mental clarity, and balance our psyche helps us to live in a more balanced and mindful way. Mindfulness is a simple practice that can be easily implemented in anyone’s daily routine.
Walking meditation gives us the opportunity to be fully present in the moment and focus on our mind and body in a different way than sitting or lying positions. We can fully bring our attention to our feet and learn how to feel supported, and in connection with the Earth.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: this exercise requires an outside location, ideally surrounded by nature

Breath Meditation & Creativity

Combining breath meditation with creativity encourages self-awareness and increases relaxation. By learning how to control our breath, we can impact our emotional state and help our mind to stay clear and calm even in more stressful situations.
With a few simple breathing exercises we can change our daily mood and impact our overall well-being.
In this workshop participants will be first invited to observe their breath through a set of activities, and once a relaxed state is achieved, to associate a colour and eventually a shape with their thoughts and emotions. This practice is a great way to encourage self-expression, enhance creativity and reframe thoughts!

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: yoga mats for participants; pen and paper for the visualization exercise

Mandala Making

Working with arts can be a type of self-expression, and a way to release emotions, switch off or heal.
During this workshop participants will be creating mandalas – abstract designs which are usually circular in form –, in pairs. Next to being a spiritual symbol, mandala has also gained importance in psychology as it helps to connect our inner and outer world, and is also used in meditation exercises.
This playful workshop will connect participants with their inner artist, giving them the chance to truly enjoy the freedom of creating, while giving some insights about their mental and spiritual well-being.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: tables and chairs for the painting exercise

From the Dark to Lightness

Sometimes, we feel urged to suppress our emotions and put on a mask, even when experiencing inner turmoil.
Within healing art, words are not always necessary. It’s a quiet practice, with a meditative aspect so we can turn inward and maybe for the first time in a long time, focus on our feelings.
With the help of watercolour paints, we are slowly moving from darker to lighter tones as a metaphor of recognising hope and focus on a part of ourselves that is healthy and able to look forward.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: preferably closed space for the workshop, tables and chairs

Free Flow

A liberating, “free” style of painting that helps exploring emotions in their purest form, reducing anxiety, and releasing stress.
During this workshop, we use the art material in a very intuitive and expressive way by splashing the paint on paper with sticks, which helps us to perform without any pressure to create or succeed. While painting, we are focusing on the act of painting itself and our experience, rather than the final art product.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: preferably closed space for the workshop, tables and chairs

Electronic Sound Exploration

Music has a unique link to our emotions, so it can be a highly effective stress management tool. As music absorbs our attention, it acts as a distraction at the same time it helps to explore emotions. That is, it can be a great aid to meditation, helping to prevent the mind wandering.
Throughout this interactive electronic music workshop participants will be introduced to a few sound-mixing techniques of pre-orchestrated tunes, which they can use to co-create melodies. It is an outstanding opportunity for people to practice non-verbal communication, as well as letting them step out of their comfort zone by contributing to a song created on their own terms. This session is available to attend for anyone regardless of their previous music experience.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: 2-3 tables for the music equipment, chairs, power outlet and an extension cord

Neuro-Linguistic Programming

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a way of changing one’s thoughts and behaviours to help achieve desired outcomes for them. It’s the study and practice of how we think (Neuro), how we communicate (Linguistic) and how we react to external and internal stimuli, generating a particular behaviour or habit (Programming).
This workshop offers an introduction to a set of tools and techniques within NLP which helps us reprogram less useful behaviours, to new, more beneficial responses that create the change we want and understand how we interrelate with others, through interactive activities in small group settings.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: tables and chairs, projector for the presentation

Fundamentals of Positive Psychology

‘Positive Psychology is the study of the strengths and virtues that enable individuals, communities, and organisations to thrive.’
During this fun, interactive workshop participants will have the opportunity to practise positive psychology techniques, with focus on their happiness habits and own strengths, through a mix of activities, conversations, creativity and reflection. Making a habit of these practices raises our awareness of our own well-being, positive qualities and natural talents. These habits can help develop a more sustainable happiness so that we are better able to cope with stress and equipped to bounce back from life’s tough times, and provide a source of purpose in life.
