LinkedIn’s yearly Learning Report is now out with a couple of interesting insights.
Learning & Development (L&D) has a more important strategic role in organisations than ever, and identifying and overcoming skill gaps is now on the agenda of most companies.
Online learning has increased disproportionally, companies now prefer internal teaching and learning (the best way of learning is teaching), and employees demand social interaction and practice, while studying.
Having the right soft skills is more preferred than technological knowledge, while developing leadership is still an issue.
The biggest challenge employees face with L&D though, is the allocated time for development, which again shouts for more flexibility, long-term thinking and better communication from an employer’s perspective.
